《海外排华百年史》于1969年成书，曾于上世纪70年代至90年代，先后在香港、大陆和台湾多次出版过中文版，书中详细记录了海外华人自19世纪60年代以来，在国外特别是在美国受歧视和排挤的状况，被学术界称为华侨史研究领域的重要著作而广泛流传。此次英文版的面世，共耗时两年多，由外交学院专家石毅翻译，外文出版社出版。在忠于原著的基础上，英文版又增加了许多华侨史方面的珍贵图片。此次英文版的出版是为了帮助不懂中文的外国专家学者、海外华人了解那段历史，让海外华侨华人能明白祖辈们早年的辛酸血泪。
