由杨金才和马惠琴主编的《英国社会与文化》属于文化素质课教材范畴，因此在组织课堂教学时，教师应尤其注意知识性和信息量，采用专题讲授和课堂讨论相结合的方式，充分利用现代化教育技术，尽量使用多媒体授课，并建立教师、教材、学生、网络一体化的教学体系，将课堂教学与学生自主学习紧密联系起来。对学生的课程考核也应采取多种手段，即把开卷和闭卷考试结合起来，着重考查学生发现问题、分析问题的能力。将撰写读书报告、小组讨论、总结汇报和小论文等具有启发性的课外作业统一纳入考核范围，全面考查学生对英国社会与文化的理解和把握水平。
