《吕氏春秋》是战国末年秦国丞相吕不韦组织属下门客们集体编撰的杂家著作，又名《吕览》。此书共分为十二纪、八览、六论，共十二卷，一百十六篇，二十余万字，内容驳杂，有儒、道、墨、法、兵、农、纵横、阴阳家等各家思想，对先秦诸子的思想进行了总结性的批判。《吕氏春秋》保存着先秦各家各派的不同学说，还记载了不少古史旧闻、古人遗语、古籍佚文及一些古代科学知识，其中不少内容是其他书中所没有的。译者历经多年辛苦，将本书完整翻译成英文，是目前对《吕氏春秋》翻译最为完整，也最接近原著的一个译本。
