《高职实用英语基础教程》包括8个单元。每个单元主题均和90后、00后的学生兴趣爱好相融合，内容符合他们的学习心理发展规律。每个单元主要包括6个模块，即对话学习模块、听力模块、语言深度学习模块、语法学习模块、写作学习模块和翻译学习模块，每个模块均包括基础知识讲解、练习分析、作业练习、知识拓展等项目。教材遵循语言学习的科学规律，重点培养学生的语言基础技能，在此基础上，积极发展学生的语言应用能力，包括基本听说读写译的基本能力，让学生在学习后基本达到《中国英语能力等级量表》做要求的中级水平。
