受共产主义总统纳吉布尔·阿赫与圣战组织和解的宏伟计划的启发，巴巴的故事涉及两个小村庄，因谋杀、报复阴谋和间谍的不光彩交易而陷入冲突。一位睿智的老人，巴巴，通过退休到一个山洞里，避开了所有把其他人分开的争吵，最终使村庄和好了。巴巴的性格是基于一个真正的隐士，巴巴·费罗兹，他住在戈达拉的一个洞穴里，被驯服的动物包围着，据说活了127岁。 Inspired by the Communist president Najibullāh's grand project to bring about reconciliation with the mujahidin, the story of Baba concerns two small villages drawn into conflict by a murder, a revenge plot, and the dishonorable dealings of a spy. The villages are finally reconciled by the advice of a wise old man, Baba, who has kept out of all the quarrels that have separated everybody else by retiring to a cave. The character of Baba is based on a real hermit, Baba Firoz, who lived in a cave in Goldara surrounded by tame animals and supposedly lived to be 127 years old.
