　　网络流媒体平台Crackle电视电影《在云端》由Robert Scott Wildes导演，Vanya Asher负责创作剧本，Dan Friedkin、Tim Kring、Bradley Thomas、Justin Levy、Brian Kavanaugh-Jones、Jillian Apfelbaum、Chris Goble制片。在近未来时代，一批受害人在连环恐怖手机游戏软件下载袭击案中丧生，促使两个关系疏远的科技天才联手开发一种前沿科技，以阻止今后的袭击事件。在此过程中，他们无意中创造了一个能改变人类生命与死亡意义的人工智能。
　　该剧将聚焦虚拟现实技术和人工智能技术的快速发展及其对人类社会产生的影响，尤其是人类因技术革命而面临的潜在威胁。主人公是两个关系疏远的科技天才，因为共同的导师神秘死亡，他们被迫走到一起。他们竭尽全力搁置彼此之间的分歧，创造一种完美的前沿科技——通过一种虚拟现实环境来刺探恐怖分子的记忆，找到尚未爆炸的手机游戏软件下载，阻止更多无辜者在恐怖袭击中丧生。但是一些居心叵测的人躲藏在暗处，想要将他们的「记忆云」据为己有，创造并控制所谓的「数字来世」。在争分夺秒阻止恐怖袭击的过程中，主人公无意中创造出一种强大的人工智能，足以改变生与死的意义以及人类的命运。
　　最初的剧情介绍曾这样写道（但是剧组在拍摄过程中似乎改主意了）：故事描述一家绝密的科技公司开发出一款神奇软件，能够将人的意识和记忆传送到不受时间、地点和生命状态决定的虚拟空间中——换言之，人的意识和记忆被「云端」化了。在「云端」，意识能与一个非常真实的人工智能化身进行沟通……即便这些人已经死了。这家公司上市的日期越来越近，但这家公司里许多人的动机似乎有问题，而且技术本身也有问题。许多人想要毁掉这家公司，杀死所有在「云端」而人——无论这样做是否会改变人类的命运。
　　Gabriel Byrne扮演守旧的纽约移植医生Doc Wolff，负责掌管一家位于英国的、世界最先进的私人基金神经科学研究室。
　　Justin Chatwin扮演神经系统科学家Hale，是个性格傲慢的无政府主义者、实用主义者。
