　　改编自Tim Winton的同名小说，讲述在某个人际关系紧密的澳洲小镇，脆弱的女子Georgie(麦克唐纳)遇上神秘的音乐人Lu(赫德兰)，两人相爱。然而Georgie已结了婚，她不爱自己的丈夫Jim(大卫·文翰)，Jim死去的前妻留下了几个儿子，她也无法取代母亲的位置。Georgie想放手追寻与Lu的爱情，而Lu深陷自己过去的伤痛，无法面对现在，他逃入了偏远严酷的澳洲内陆荒野。Georgie的丈夫得知此事，决定纠正自己过去的错误，帮Georgie去找到真正的爱人。Georgie也决定不顾一切把Lu找回来，并找到自我。
