　　根据《六壮士》原著作家阿利斯特麦克莱恩的另一惊险小说改编，是查尔斯．布朗森当红时代主演的精彩娱乐片。故事的主要发生场景是一列火车，老查饰演一名为装成囚犯的密探，潜伏在满载美国骑兵队开往金矿要塞的列车上，目的是要找出偷取金矿的幕后元凶。在列车行进中，车上发生了许多怪事，老查也揭发了很多秘密，为自己惹来麻烦。在面临生死关头时，他利用印第安人前来侵袭列车的机会逃脱，适时找到救兵前往矿区展开大扫荡。导演汤姆．格里斯处理紧张刺激的气氛殊为成功 ，其中一幕老查与前世界拳王阿奇．摩尔在疾走列车上的肉博拳击战尤其是惊心动魄的高潮戏。
