◎简　　介
　　　　这部人物传记片塑造了1837年至1901年间的维利多亚时代的一位著名画家——路易斯.维恩的形象。他担任插画师时能力绰绰有余，却还要另外花费大量精力去研究如何将电力为人类所用。他兴趣广泛，懂得钻研、肯下功夫，但他的母亲和五个妹妹却时时将他拉回现实，他总是为了生活和全家的债务不得已奔波忙碌。后来他与妹妹的家庭教师艾米丽相爱并结婚，因为二者地位不同受到妹妹们和社会的反对。不久之后艾米丽因病去世，他们二人收养的流浪猫彼得成了主人公路易斯.维恩的情感寄托和灵感源泉。后来他画的猫风行全国，天才的名声甚至传到了大洋对岸，但不擅理财的他到了晚年时期只能住在病房中，而让他认识到世界如此美好的艾米丽也成为了他最后的精神归宿。
