◎简 介
在盖朗厄尔山体滑坡监测站工作的地质学家克里斯蒂安准备辞职并举家搬迁到斯塔万格。当他们收拾好行李准备前往渡口时，克里斯蒂安发现了周边环境的一些细微变化，于是他返回监测站告诫他的同事们山体滑坡的危险即将来临，但大家认为他的担心为时过早，无奈的克里斯蒂安只好离去。他带着女儿朱莉娅回到家度过在盖朗厄尔的最后一晚，而儿子桑德拉留在妻子伊敦工作的酒店。灾难不期而至，山体滑坡引发了海啸。克里斯蒂安带着女儿连夜离开家，因为联系不上伊敦和桑德拉，他决定把女儿暂时托付给邻居，独自前往酒店寻找妻子和儿子。他来到已经被海水席卷过的酒店，在地下室发现了妻儿。原来，当伊敦组织客人们撤离的时候发现桑德拉不见了，当她找到玩滑板的儿子时已经错过了撤离的大巴车，母子二人就这样被困在了几乎被水淹没的酒店。为了救不会游泳的儿子，克里斯蒂安险些丧命。最终一家四口安全地团聚。
