　　　　杨寒云和伯父在关外以开客栈为生，并从伯父那里继承了一身好武功。一日她来到小镇上采购货品，遇到素有“连环三杰”称号的武林高手挑衅，幸好一名叫王剑心的年轻人出手相助。此刻杨寒云忽然发现小镇上聚集了许多武林高手，他们在寻找一个和杨开云同样以鞭子为武器的人――影子神 鞭方承天。 江湖盛传15年前方承天劫走镖局大批价值连城的珠宝，致使当时负责保镖的杨总镖头家破人亡，如今各高手仍在寻找方承天的下落，他们要杀死方承天夺回珠宝。 杨寒云回到客栈，遇到来此寻找方承天的洪大鹏，此人曾和方承天是拜把兄弟，如今却是江湖上寻找方承天的领头人。杨寒云的伯父出面与方承天对决，此刻杨寒云才得知伯父就是江湖中人寻找了15年的方承天。 方承天命杨寒云先行回到小镇，她找到王剑心，两人互生情愫。王剑心告诉杨开云，自己实为杨总镖头的外甥，尽管他对杨开云一见钟情，但却没有忘记为舅父报仇。王剑心和杨寒云突破众多高手的围攻，回到客栈中。方承天向他们讲述了实情…… 当年方承天应洪大鹏之邀协助杨总镖头送镖，却在出发前一晚遇到一名和自己一样使用鞭子的蒙面人在杨总镖头的驻地滥杀无辜。蒙面人抢走了珠宝，方承天则救下了杨总镖头的女儿。为了保护这个孩子，方承天忍受江湖种种猜测，带着孩子躲到关外。当年那个女孩就是今天的杨寒云。 一切真相大白，从种种破绽来看，当年的蒙面人就是洪大鹏。他劫走珠宝嫁祸方承天，又鼓动江湖中人赶尽杀绝。在武林高手们众目睽睽之下，杨寒云亲手杀死了洪大鹏，报了父母的血海深仇。方承天也终于在多年后洗清冤屈，重新恢复正常生活。 精彩视点:这部由邵氏电影公司出品的经典武打影片，由罗维担任导演，改编自倪匡的小说《回光璧》，以倒叙的方式讲述了一段江湖恩怨。影片由素有“金燕子”之称的郑佩佩领衔主演，同时这也是郑佩佩结婚前最后一部武侠片。导演同时请来了郑佩佩的最佳拍档，有“大醉侠”之称的岳华和她一起搭档演出。影片中打斗场面真实精彩，在动作电影风靡一时的七八十年代是一部不可多得的佳作。
